Balancing of Flexible Rotors Supported on Fluid Film Bearings by Means of Influence Coefficients Calculated by the Numerical Assembly Technique

In this paper, a new method for the balancing of rotor-bearing systems supported on fluid film bearings is proposed. The influence coefficients necessary are calculated using novel simulation called Numerical Assembly Technique. advantages approach quasi-analytical solutions equations motion complex and very low computation times. Technique extended by speed-dependent stiffness damping approximated short-bearing theory to model behavior rotor bearings. rotating circular shaft modeled according Rayleigh beam theory. used calculate steady-state harmonic response, coefficients, eigenvalues, Campbell diagram rotor. These values compared simulations with Finite Element Method show accuracy procedure. Two numerical examples successfully balanced proposed method.
